Hotel Tariff

Tariff is the rate or charges offered to guest by hotels . Generally it is charged depending upon service and facilities offered by the hotel . A five star hotel have high tariff while a budget hotel may have lower tariff. It is the price structure presented by hotel which includes accomodation, food and beverage . It is list of fare in which room rates , room plan , fixed meal charge and applicable taxes are mentioned. A tariff is usually a card which is well designed and in print form which gives information to guest about price for using various service, facilities, products.

Basis for charging Room rates :

1. Hourly basis : A guest is charged on hourly basis .

2. 12 noon : The check in and check out time will be 12 noon . It is the best method because a room can be sold twice in a day if it have 12 noon check in / check out considering early check out.

3. 24 hour basis : A guest will be charged for stay of 24 hours but if the guest departs earlier than 24 hour he will not be given discount.

4 Night basis : Most hotel charge on basis of night . He have to pay according with how many nights he stayed in hotel.

5. Operating seasons : The room rates will be higher in on season and lower on off season

6. Special contract : A contract bounds two parties with certain rules and regulations. Special contract also determine what should be charged.

ROOM PLAN

1. European plan :

A guest is charged for the room only. European plan consists room rate only. All other expenses have to be paid based on consumption.

2. American plan :

It is full board plan. The plan includes all meal along with room rent.

3. Continental plan :

It is bed and breakfast plan as it includes charges for continental breakfast along with room rent
